Russian militants committed 37 attacks yesterday, used tanks, IFVs, 122 mm cannons, - Staff

The Russian occupation forces attacked the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) troops’ positions 37 times over the past 24-hour period.

Censor.NET reports citing the latest update by the ATO Staff press center as of Dec. 26, 2016.

According to the Staff, Shyrokyne village in Mariupol direction was thrice shelled with tanks. Attacks with the use of 122 mm artillery and IFV weapons were also recorded there. The occupants shelled Talakivka and Shyrokyne with mortars of various calibers. Grenade launchers and large-caliber machine guns were employed against Shyrokyne, Marinka, Pavlopil and Vodiane.

"Ukrainian servicemen deployed near Shyrokyne were forced to open fire in response to save lives of the military personnel," the report reads.

The militants reportedly mortar-shelled Luhanske village in Donetsk direction. Avdiivka, Opytne, Pivdenne, Zaitseve and Luhanske came under grenade launchers, large-caliber machine guns and small arms fire.

Stanytsia Luhanska in Luhansk direction was shelled from grenade launchers.

"A total of 37 attacks were committed over the past day," the ATO Staff press center added.
