Censor.NET reports citing the latest update by the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) Staff press center.
The situation report reads: "The occupants shelled our positions in the vicinity of Luhanske with 122 mm artillery, employed 120 mm mortars against Luhanske and Starohnativka, 82 mm mortars, grenade launchers of various systems, large-caliber machine guns against Avdiivka, Novhorodske, Verkhniotoretske and Luhanske.
"The Russian occupation forces launched artillery and mortar attack on the positions of our troops at Svitlodarsk salient around 8:30 a.m. followed by unsuccessful offensive operation under its cover. The onslaught was stopped by the return fire and the militants were forced to retreat.
"However, the militants resumed shelling with 122 mm artillery and 120 mm mortars already at 10 a.m. and launched another offensive on our positions. The return fire forced the enemy to retreat and no further attempts to launch an offensive were made.
"Besides, the enemy shelled Myronivka village with large-caliber 152-mm artillery twice during the day.
"Krasnohorivka and Vodiane villages in Mariupol direction came under the enemy strikes with 120 and 82 mm mortars.
"The enemy employed anti-tank missile systems and 82 mm mortars against Krymske village in Luhansk direction," the statement reads.
