Censor.NET reports citing Hromadske quoting Syrian journalist Monzer Etaki who left eastern Aleppo a few days ago.
According to the journalist, on Monday, Dec. 19, people were allowed to evacuate the city. At a checkpoint on the outskirts of Aleppo, a Russian officer took away his laptop, drone and camera before the bus he was travelling in was allowed to proceed to the neutral territory.
The journalist says some rebels are still staying in eastern Aleppo along with their families. According to Monzer, they want to evacuate with opposition fighters as they do not trust the Russians and Iranians who carry out the evacuation. They need protection, but the U.N. and the Red Cross, who observe the evacuation, can not provide any of the kind and prevent the arrest of people, he adds.
