 Over 60 PACE delegates voted against Russian delegation's credentials restoration, Ukrainian MP Ariev says

More than 60 members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) voted against the Russian delegation rights’ restoration.

As reported by Censor.NET, Head of Ukrainian delegation to PACE, Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction MP Volodymyr Ariev wrote on Facebook.

"More than 60 delegates to PACE voted against full restoration of credentials of the Russian Federation's delegation until Russia performs main entries of the PACE resolution," he wrote enclosing a link to the list of signatories.

In 2014-2015, following the illegal annexation of Crimea and military aggression in Donbas, the Parliamentary Assembly suspended certain rights of the Russian delegation and put forward a clearly defined list of demands under which this decision could be reviewed.

Russians were deprived of the right to vote and participate in the governing bodies of the Assembly and its mission to monitor the elections in the area under jurisdiction of the Council of Europe. In January 2016, the Russian Federation refused to apply for restoration of its credentials in the PACE in 2016.
