 Amputations, electrocuting, burns caused by acid and hot irons: SBU disclosed horrible tortures used by militants against Ukrainian hostages

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has interviewed more than 1,400 soldiers released from captivity of the “DPR”/“LPR” militants: almost all of them were tortured by the invaders.

SBU Secretariat Head Oleksandr Tkachuk told a briefing speaking about the achievements of the Military Counterintelligence Service, Censor.NET reports referring to Lіga.

Tkachuk said that the agency started collecting testimonies of the hostages released from captivity of the "DPR"/"LPR" terrorists a few months ago.

"We have interviewed more than 1,400 military and most of them confirmed that they had been subjected to torture to a greater or lesser extent. They were encouraged to join the enemy and cooperate with the Russian secret services," he said.

According to Tkachuk, the terrorists were particularly hard on Ukrainian scouts, troopers, gunners and members of the volunteer battalions.

As reported by the SBU, 108 people (including 61 servicemen and law enforcers) were held hostage by the militants, while the fate of 495 people (including 135 servicemen and law enforcers) remained unknown as of Nov. 22.
