Party of Regions paid bonuses to interior troops during Euromaidan, - PGO

The Prosecutor General's Office reports that representatives of the now disbanded Party of Regions paid extras to interior troops during the Euromaidan protests in Ukraine.

This was announced by prosecutor Roman Psiuk during the questioning via video link of interior troops ex-commander Stanislav Shuliak in the Sviatoshyn district court of Kyiv, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.

The prosecutor said that Anatolii Klymchuk, the ex-head of the Public Security Department of the Interior Troops, testified about an official meeting held in January 2014 under the chairmanship of Shuliak, where Party of Regions representatives promised financial awards to interior troops soldiers.

Shuliak himself denies any illegal payments to his subordinates.

Earlier, Shuliak said unknowns had handed out Kalashnikovs rifles to Euromaidan activists in Kyiv on Feb. 20, 2014. According to him, the protesters fired from the National Conservatory and Hotel Ukraine buildings.

According to Shuliak, no order came in to use riot control weapons against Euromaidan activists. He failed to name the person being in charge of the crackdown on protesters.Источник: https://censor.net.ua/en/n417624
