Rada committee postpones debate to cancel Novynskyi's immunity, asks PGO to provide more materials

The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Rules and Procedures has postponed the consideration of the motion by the Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) on stripping Opposition Bloc MP Vadym Novynskyi of parliamentary immunity and bringing him to criminal liability.

The decision was made at a meeting on Wednesday, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.

The committee is going to ask Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko to provide additional materials and explanations at the request of deputies whose names will be reported in the coming days.

The committee has postponed the consideration of the motion until a written response of the PGO is received.

On Nov. 3, Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko addressed the Verkhovna Rada with a request to sanction the arrest of MP Novynskyi.

As noted, Novynskyi is suspected of kidnapping and abuse of power along with Yanukovych, Zakharchenko, Koriak.
