Over 20 hearses left Donbas for Russia since 2014, - OSCE

Regardless of the restrictions of access to the conflict zone in the Donbas, the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) has still formally recorded more than two dozen trucks taking dead Russians from Ukraine’s east over two and a half years.

U.S. Ambassador to the OSCE Daniel Baer said at a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council on Thursday, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.

According to the U.S. official, the OSCE SMM based at Gukovo and Donetsk border crossings recorded another hearse marked by the inscription 200, which is used by Russians to identify their fallen servicemen, crossing the border between Russia and the separatists-held territory Oct. 27. The U.S. Ambassador to the OSCE said that it was only one of more than twenty such vehicles recorded over 2.5 years not to mention those hearses that went unnoticed.

In this regard, Baer recalled that the Kremlin continued denying its direct involvement in the conflict in eastern Ukraine.

According to the U.S. diplomat, despite the fact that the Russian authorities identify talks on the country's combat casualties in Ukraine as a crime, it does not change the fact that Russians continue dying in the conflict, in which their government continues denying its losses and key role.
