PGO, SFS conducting searches at BRSM-Nafta offices, - Lutsenko

The Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) and the State Fiscal Service (SFS) are carrying out searches in the offices of BRSM-Nafta group of companies known as one of Ukraine's largest independent fueling station chains.

Censor.NET reports referring to Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko's Facebook page.

"250 PGO and SFS employees are conducting searches in the offices of BRSM-Nafta group of companies as part of criminal proceedings in relation to 1 billion hryvnia ($38,6 million) tax evasion," the prosecutor general wrote.

According to Lutsenko, the court has arrested BRSM-Nafta's assets in 21 regions across the country, including five oil depots, 41 fueling stations and four office premises.

"We are going to hand over the property in the custody of Ukraine's Energy Ministry," he said.

On June 8, 2015, a fire broke out in the BRSM-Nafta's oil depot in the Vasylkivskyi district of the Kyiv region. The accident killed six people and injured 15. The tanks kept burning for three days.

A lawyer of the rescuers claimed the investigators and prosecutors were trying to "hush up" the case of last year's blaze at a BRSM-Nafta's tank farm.
