Just another farce in Russian kangaroo court, - Poroshenko on Karpiuk and Klykh's sentence

President Petro Poroshenko said the sentencing of Ukrainian citizens Mykola Karpiuk and Stanislav Klykh by the Russian court is just another farce.

Poroshenko wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

"Today, just another farce occurred in the Russian kangaroo court's trial over Ukrainian citizens Mykola Karpiuk and Stanislav Klykh. This happened despite total absurdity of the charges against them and despite Stanislav's grave health condition that requires immediate medical assistance.

"The absurdity of the situation has been stressed by recent refusal of Moscow to transfer our Oleh Sentsov and Oleksandr Kolchenko allegedly due to Russian passports. And that's after Russian Ombudsperson acknowledged that both Kolchenko and Sentsov were Ukrainian citizens.

"In connection with this I ordered Foreign Ministry and other relevant agencies to put more efforts in the soonest release of Ukrainian citizens and protection of their rights, including by enhanced international pressure on Russia."
