Local budgets increased by 34B hryvnia: 50 percent more than in 2015, - Hroisman

This year's local budgets have already increased by more than 50 percent or 34 billion hryvnia ($1.3) compared to last year.

Prime Minister Volodymyr Hroisman said in his opening speech at the "Decentralization brings the best results and efficiency" program broadcast by 112 Ukraine, Censor.NET reports.

"The local budgets have grown by 34 billion hryvnia, which is 50 percent more compared to last year. If we look further, we'll see there are other tools in Ukraine today to foster regional development. It is the State Regional Development Fund which allocates money fairly for the first time. It is a 1 billion hryvnia ($38.47 million) subvention to support united local communities, while 1.5 billion hryvnia is budgeted for the next year. It is a social and economic development subvention intended for local budgets as well. At present, the state is transferring resources down to the regions in an open and systematic manner," the prime minister stated.
