"We should stop being naive about Russia's intentions," - Poroshenko in an article for Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko calls on the international community not to be naive about Russia's true intentions and maintain sanctions against this country until restoration of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Petro Poroshenko wrote in an article for the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung titled "The End of the Masquerade," Censor.NET reports citing UNIAN.

"We should finally stop being naive about Russia's intentions as we were in 2008 or in 2014/2015. This country is not going to stop the aggression unless we stop it ourselves. The deception and manipulation work without solidarity and vision," he said.

"That is why we desperately need to impose the efficient sanctions to restore the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine," the president said.

"They [sanctions] keep Russia at the negotiating table and prevent it from causing even greater losses," the head of state added.
