Russian militants defiantly redeploy troops near Stanytsia Luhanska, - Defense Intelligence Agency

The adversary drags out the implementation of the framework agreement on disengagement of troops reached in Minsk on Sept. 21, 2016 trying to shift responsibility for its failure on the Ukrainian side.

Censor.NET reports citing the statement by the press service of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

"The disengagement of advanced units of the 2nd Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 2nd Army Corps (Luhansk) of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation from the vicinity of Stanytsia Luhanska scheduled for Oct. 13, 2016 failed," the report reads.

The agency also reports that the occupation forces carried out the following demonstrative actions:

- The reinforced tank and motorized rifle companies of the aforementioned unit were redeployed from Luhansk City in the direction of Stanytsia Luhanska;

- The militants carried out partial rotation of personnel deployed at the brigade in Stanytsia Luhanska;

As reported, Sept. 21, the Tripartite Contact Group on the settlement of the situation in the Donbas signed the framework decision on disengagement of troops and hardware of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the armed groups of certain areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine from the demarcation line at three security areas near Stanytsia Luhanska, Zolote and Petrivske within 13 days (by Oct. 6).

The disengagement of troops near Zolote village was successfully accomplished Oct. 1, near Petrivske - Oct. 7.
