Censor.NET reports citing the Joint Declaration of the Friends of Ukraine group published by Politico.

"In the sense of further positive steps towards finding a solution to the conflict, the negotiations need to be upgraded by involving all relevant players, including the United States," the document reads.

The declaration was signed by former Foreign Minister and head of Swedish government Carl Bildt, former Polish PM Włodzimierz Cimoszewicz, former Foreign Minister and head of Slovakian government Mikuláš Dzurinda, President of Estonia Toomas Hendrik Ilves, former President of the European Parliament Hans-Gert Pöttering, former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, and former UK's Foreign and Defense Secretary Sir Malcolm Rifkind.

"The Minsk process has stalled, as the Russian government and its proxies continue to violate the cease-fire and impede the work of OSCE monitors," the signatories stressed.

Members of Friends of Ukraine group believe all relevant players, including Ukraine, Russia, the European Union and the U.S. should be involved in solving the conflict in eastern Ukraine.

"Until the Russian government mends its ways, the Europeans need to stay firm, including by tightening the sanctions on Russia," the politicians stressed.

According to them, the extended and stiffened sanctions would demonstrate Europe's resolve and align the sanctions with those imposed by the US.
