Sushchenko could only be released through exchange, - lawyer Feygin

The Kremlin-held Ukrainian journalist might be exchanged for the Russian spy recently detained in Rivne, Ukraine.

This was announced by Sushchenko's lawyer Mark Feygin on air of 5 Channel, Censor.NET reports.

"I just can't fancy any other way of his return home. It's not possible to imagine a Russian court declaring him not guilty," the lawyer said.

He noted the exchange could take place as it did in cases of other Ukrainian political prisoners in Russia.

"We have a test case - that of Savchenko and two others, Soloshenko and Afanasiev, who returned home after that, in Ukraine. But all of them had been convicted, you see? Most probably, they will not invent anything new and despite all the pressure, it will end in a swap," Feygin commented.

The lawyer also noted that Sushchenko might be as well exchanged for the Russian spy recently detained in Ukrainian Rivne.
