Court releases separatist Korsunskyi, accused of “LPR” creation. DOCUMENT (in Ukrainian)

The Troitskyi district court of the Luhansk region discharged from criminal liability and released from custody Serhii Korsunskyi charged with creation of the “Luhansk People's Republic” terrorist organization.

As reported by Censor.NET citing Hromadske, this is evidenced by the relevant court ruling.


The lawyers of the accused filed a petition to discharge him from liability.

The prosecutor also requested the separatist's release over his cooperation with the investigation and assistance provided to the law enforcement authorities.

"... According to the prosecutor's explanations, no facts of Serhii Korsunskyi's involvement in other crimes except for his participation in the terrorist organization were found during the pre-trial investigation. Besides, Korsunskyi voluntarily informed the law enforcement authorities about the activities of the "LPR" terrorist organization and contributed to exposure of crimes committed by its members," the text of the court decision reads.


Korsunskyi spent eight months in the SBU-run remand prison in Kyiv.


As reported, the Security Service of Ukraine detained Serhii Korsunskyi Feb. 3, 2016.

The Shevchenkivskyi district court of Kyiv has imposed pretrial confinement against the suspect.
