"No one will increase grey area and leave people behind," - Deputy minister Tuka on disengagement of troops in Donbas

Deputy Minister on temporarily occupied territories Heorhii Tuka says no one is going to increase the grey area in the Donbas.

He announced this during a press conference on displacement of people through the demarcation line that took place in Kyiv on Sept. 30, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.

"No one is going to leave people behind or abandon territories. No one is planning to increase the grey area," Tuka said.

The deputy minister believes residents of Stanytsia Luhanska, one of the three designated areas for disengagement of troops and hardware under the framework decision reached in Minsk, protested against withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Stanytsia without possessing full knowledge on the matter. Tuka stressed that the disengagement only included the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Border Guards and other state services will remain in place, he says.

The official noted that some strategically important areas, like those of power plants, will see no troops withdrawal. Or the withdrawal will happen only after 24/7 presence of OSCE SMM, manned and equipped, is secured there.
