9,640 people killed, 22,431 wounded in Donbas since April 2014, - UN

Since the beginning of hostilities in the Donbas, 9,640 people, including soldiers, civilians and militants, have been killed and 22,431 received injuries.

As reported by Censor.NET citing LІGA.net, Fiona Frazer, head of the United Nations Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, announced it at a news briefing, quoting the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).

Since the beginning of the military conflict in 2014 until Sept. 15, 2016, the OHCHR recorded 32,071 casualties among civilians, Ukrainian soldiers and members of paramilitary groups, including 9,640 killed and 22,431 injured, she noted.

According to Frazer, the office believes civilians make 20 percent of those killed. She also noted it was a conservative estimate based on available data.

As previously reported, Russian hybrid forces committed 50 attacks on Ukrainian troops over the past day.
