After asked whether he deemed fair Myroslava's saying about his recently purchased posh apartment [Gongadze said neither she nor her children received anything from Ukrainska Pravda - neither money nor corporate rights - despite the fact that her husband was one of the founders of the news website - ed.], Leshchenko said that "Myroslava made a mistake."

"Such issues should be treated differently. She played along with my enemies, corrupt officials, giving them a reason to take advantage of the fresh emotions. It was an unfair comment, but I do not want to bring this story up for a public discussion," Leshchenko said.

"I am familiar with Myroslava and the daughters. She chose another life, left for the United States, became a citizen of this country, enrolled in the civil service. And Gongadze's name safeguards her and the children, opens many avenues to them," the MP added.

"Ukrainska Pravda has become the leader among the online news media thanks to the dedicated and sometimes risky work of its journalists during many years. The work without days off and breaks. You can see for yourself, very often, articles appeared and still appear on the site at 4 a.m.," Leshchenko summed up.

Earlier, blogger Andrii Dzyndzia wrote on Facebook that People's Deputy Serhii Leshchenko had purchased 200-square meter apartment worth 7.5 million hryvnia (about $300,000) on Ivana Franka Street in downtown Kyiv. In turn, Serhii Leshchenko confirmed that he indeed purchased the apartment with total area of almost 200 square meters on Ivana Franka Street in downtown Kyiv. The lawmaker noted that he borrowed half of the amount necessary for the purchase of the property from one of the Ukrainska Pravda founders Olena Prytula. The rest of the amount was partially his personal and his girlfriend's savings.

On Sept. 7, Leshchenko addressed the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the National Agency for Prevention of Corruption (NAPC) to check the legality of his acquisition of an apartment in Kyiv. After that, Chief Anti-Corruption Prosecutor Nazar Kholodnytskyi ordered the NABU to verify the legality of the purchase of Leshchenko's new flat, questioned by some media.Источник: https://censor.net.ua/en/n405865
