State Fiscal Service spills details of militant’s major supply chain elimination in ATO zone

Ukrainian taxmen in conjunction with members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and SBU Center for Special Operations carried out a successful raid to block a large-scale supply chain of food, medicines, and consumer goods to the Russian militants in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area in the Donetsk region.

Deputy Chief of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine Main Directorate in Kyiv Ihor Skorokhod told a press briefing, Censor.NET reports citing the press office of the State Fiscal Service.

Investigative actions were carried out in the cities of Bakhmut, Kramatorsk, and Sloviansk, as well as Novoluhanske village situated in the gray zone.

"The challenge of this special operation was in the need to conduct it in the gray zone in the close proximity to the militants' checkpoint. The area is also featured by the activity of the enemy subversive and reconnaissance groups so the special operation details were kept a secret," Skorokhod explained.

According to him, 4,000 tons of food worth about 200 million hryvnia (about $7.5 million) was delivered in Novoluhanske village (3,100 residents) monthly, which means that every resident of the village was allegedly consuming 1.3 tons of food each month.

"90 percent of goods that were allegedly supplied for Novoluhanske residents were immediately delivered in the temporarily occupied territory, distributed throughout the militants' warehouses and stores," Skorokhod said.

More than 100 members of the tax police, SBU Special Operations Center and Armed Forces took part in the raid, which included 20 searches, 50 inspections of vehicles and transshipment facilities. The source documents, second sets of books, cash, and goods planned to be delivered in the occupied territory were seized as a result.

"The large-scale delivery of goods to the territory temporarily uncontrolled by the Ukrainian government was liquidated as a result of this special operation planned by the State Fiscal Service," Skorokhod summed up.

Earlier, the State Fiscal Service reported about the raids at transshipment facilities and attachment of trucks with the goods yesterday. According to first deputy chairman of the State Fiscal Service, more than 100 people took part in the special operation.
