Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yevhen Yenin wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.
"We have just received the formal confirmation of Vladyslav Kaskiv's arrest in Panama through Interpol cannels. The main lesson of this story is that the attempts to show off come at a high cost for this flaunty selfie-lover," he wrote.
Earlier, Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko announced that ex-head of the State Agency for Investment and National Projects of Ukraine Vladyslav Kaskiv was apprehended in Panama Aug. 18.
As previously reported, in 2012 Kaskiv signed a $1 billion contract with Spain's company Gas Natural on investment in a liquefied gas (LNG) terminal on Ukraine's Black Sea Coast. Later, the Spanish side stated it did not know the person who had signed the contract on its behalf. The man's name was Jordi Sarda Bonvehi, a ski instructor from Barcelona region.
