Old schemes are gone: Ukraine saves nearly 790 million hryvnia after delegating drug procurement to international organisations, - Acting Health Minister Suprun

Minister of Health Ulana Suprun says most of drugs are no longer procured via intermediaries.

By procuring medicines through international organizations, the Ministry of Health has saved 790 million hryvnia (approx. $31.289 million) in comparison with 2014. Acting Health Minister Ulana Suprun said at today's briefing, Censor.NET reports citing LIGA.net.

"We've changed the system of drug procurement. Old schemes are gone. Most drugs are procured without intermediaries. The monopoly in tenders has been defeated. Around 40 percent of those who won tenders are Ukrainian producers," she said, adding that twice as many producers bid in 2016 in comparison with the previous year.
