Poroshenko awards 31 servicemen on occasion of Ukraine’s Air Force Day

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko awarded 31 soldiers on the occasion of the Ukraine’s Armed Forces Air Force Day.

As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced in presidential decree No. 327/2016 of Aug. 5.

According to the decree, the military were awarded "for personal courage and operational excellence shown during defense of national sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as the exemplary performance of military duties" on the occasion of the Day of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In particular, two soldiers were decorated with the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, 3d class, four - with the Order for Personal Courage, 3d class, three - with the Order of Danylo Halytskyi, 13 - with the Medal for Distinguished Military Service, eight - with the Good Conduct Medal, 3d class, and one - with Defender of the Nation Medal.

As previously reported, the Air Force Day is celebrated in Ukraine annually on the first Sunday of August. The holiday was established by the presidential decree of June 27, 2007.
