As announced by Censor.NET, the ATO press center detailed in its report as at 6 a.m. Aug. 5, posted on Facebook.
According to the Staff, 42 cases of fire by hybrid Russian forces were recorded over the past 24-hour period, including 21 cases at Donetsk direction, 19 cases at Mariupol direction, and two in the Luhansk region.
"At Donetsk direction, the enemy conducted mortar and machine gun fire upon defenders of Avdiivka and Nevelske. In Zaitseve and Nyzhnie Lozove, the enemy employed IFVs, making 16 shots. An anti-tank missile system was used upon Opytne. Positions in Luhanske were fired upon by the occupants from IFVs and large-caliber machine guns, with a sniper being active in the area," the report reads.
At Mariupol direction, the enemy conducted fire from mortars, grenade launchers, and machine guns upon the defenses of the Ukrainian Army in Vodiane, where IFVs were also employed:
"Positions of our defenders in Krasnohorivka, Taramchuk, and Hranitne were shelled from grenade launcher fire; in Novotroitske and Pavlopil the enemy employed mortars. Fire from an antiaircraft mount was recorded near Marinka. It was also unquiet in Luhanske and Starohnativka. In Marinka and Shyrokyne area, a sniper was operating."
The Staff also said that at 10 p.m. an enemy 8 strong group approached a Ukrainian strong point near Bohdanivka. Saboteurs opened fire from grenade launchers and small arms from a 500-meter distance:
"Ukrainian defenders were ready to provocations and gave a fitting rebuff. After an hour, the enemy retreated. No losses were incurred by the Ukrainian side."
"In the Luhansk region, Ukrainian positions in Novozvanivka and Lopaskyne were shelled by the occupants from grenade launchers and small arms two times. Afternoon, the area became quiet again.
"The enemy also got more active in air reconnaissance in the Donetsk region, where three flights of enemy drones were recorded yesterday," the ATO press center added.
