Three militants detained in ATO area, - SBU

Officers of Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) detained three militant members of illegal armed gangs of the so-called "DPR/LPR" in the area of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) in the east of Ukraine.

Censor.NET informs citing SBU's press service.

According to the message, officers of SBU and police revealed two members of terrorist groups in Bakhmut and Toretsk, the Donetsk region. A Bakhmut resident voluntarily joint illegal armed gangs of Debaltseve in 2014. He guarded a strong point and facilities of terrorists.

Another militant participated in an illegal armed gang of the "Donetsk People's Republic" in his hometown of Toresk in 2014. He controlled an illegal strong point.

Subsequently, both militants left the terrorist gangs and have been hiding from justice due to fears for their lives.

Criminal proceeding has been launched under part 2 article 260 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (c
reation of armed formations, participation in operations, punishable by imprisonment for a term of three to eight years). The militants have been served notices of suspicion.

In the Luhansk region's Rubizhne town, SBU employees detained a local who voluntarily joined the so-called Cossack Guard of Almighty Don Host in 2014. Together with his comrades, he guarded a military recruitment office in Pervomaiske.

After Pervomaisk was released by the ATO forces, the militant fled his unit and has been hiding at his relatives' in Ukraine-controlled part of the Luhansk region.
