In particular, 40 cases of shelling were reported in the Mariupol sector, 19 in the Donetsk sector, and 18 in the Luhansk sector, Censor.NET reports citing the ATO press center.
In the Mariupol sector, it was not calm in Marinka. Sabotage and reconnaissance units of terrorists tried to seize strongholds of Ukrainian troops in the town. However, Ukrainian soldiers repulsed the attack. In addition, the militants mortared Chermalyk, Hnutove, Novohryhorivka, Shyrokyne, and Starohnativka with 120-mm shells.
According to the ATO Staff, the terrorists fired from 82-mm mortars, grenade launchers, IFV weapons, large-caliber machine guns, and small arms. Russian forces fired from a tank at Novohryhorivka eight times.
In Adiivka (Donetsk sector), the militants shelled the ATO forces' positions with 122-mm guns, 120-mm and 82-mm mortars, grenade launchers, and large-caliber machine guns. The militants fired 30 shells from self-propelled guns upon Ukrainian strongholds in Opytne. Ukrainian soldiers in Novoselivka Druha came under terrorists' fire three times, while the terrorists fired from IFV weapons, large-caliber machine guns, and small arms at the village of Luhanske.
In the Luhansk sector, the terrorists also intensified their attacks. In particular, Ukrainian servicemen repulsed three attacks in the vicinity of Novozvanivka; the terrorists were forced to retreat. They fired at Ukrainian strongholds from 122-mm self-propelled guns, 120-mm and 82-mm mortars, grenade launchers, and small arms. Oleksandrivka came under 122-mm artillery fire and 82-mm mortar fire. The militants fired from a tank in the vicinity of Popasna.
"Despite the armed provocations, the ATO forces control the situation along the whole demarcation line," the Staff stresses.
