Pro-Russian militants opened fire upon Ukrainian units 78 times yesterday, used banned weapons, - Staff

Yesterday, Russian occupation troops opened fire against the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) forces 78 times, including from Minsk-banned weapons.

As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by the ATO press center in a report as at 6 a.m. July 19, posted on Facebook.

According to the Staff, 43 cases of shelling were recorded at Donetsk direction, 22 at Mariupol direction, and 13 cases at Luhansk direction.

"The enemy used 122-mm artillery near Myronivske and Pisky in the Donetsk region. In addition, it employed 120-mm mortars near Maiorsk, Nyzhnie Lozove, Zaitseve, Avdiivka and Luhanske. The enemy used 82-mm mortars to shell Kamianka, Avdiivka, Pisky, Zaitseve, Troitske, Opytne, and Nevelske. Grenade launchers, large-caliber machine guns, an anti-aircraft mount, and an IFV were used by the occupants to spray our positions in Novhorodske," the message reads.

It is reported that it was unquiet at Mariupol direction in Marinka, Krasnohorivka, Starohnativka, where the enemy fired upon Ukrainian defenders from 120-mm mortars. 82-mm caliber mortars, grenade launchers, and small arms were employed by the enemy in Vodiane, while Marinka was shelled from grenade launchers, large-caliber machine guns, and armored vehicles.

In the Luhansk region, the enemy fired upon ATO forces' strong points in Krymske, Novooleksandrivka, and Troitske from 120-mm mortars, and in Stanytsia Luhanska from 82-mm mortars, grenade launchers, and large-caliber machine guns.

The day before yesterday, July 17, the enemy fired upon ATO forces' positions 64 times.
