A terrorist who used a hired lorry to kill at least 84 people in a rampage during Bastille Day celebrations in Nice has been named as a convicted criminal well-known to the police for armed attacks, Censor.NET reports referring to The Telegraph.

Tunisian-born Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel - described as a "weird loner" and father of three, who "became depressed" when his wife left him - was a French passport holder who lived in the Riviera city and was regularly in trouble with the law.

The Daily Mirror has also published a photo of a residence permit in the name of Mohamed Bouhlel. As noted, this document was found with the attacker in the driver cab of the truck after his annihilation by the police.


As reported, a truck drove at high speed into a crowd of people celebrating Bastille Day in the French city of Nice on July 14. According to latest update, the death toll in attack reached 84, 18 victims being in critical condition.

Ukrainian Foreign Ministry later reported about one Ukrainian citizen killed and one injured in the truck attack.
