US Treasury Secretary Lew and Germany's Schäuble reiterate common position on Ukraine

The heads of Finance Ministries of Germany and the United States Wolfgang Schäuble and Jack Lew confirmed their common position on the situation in Ukraine at today's meeting in Berlin.

"Minister Schäuble and I continued our discussion on the situation in Ukraine. I congratulated him on the EU's successful rollover of its sectoral sanctions against Russia and reaffirmed our shared view that full implementation of the Minsk agreements is critically important, as is the need for Ukraine to continue its economic reforms," Lew said.

As also reported, the sides discussed the Brexit issue, transatlantic trade, and the preparation for the upcoming G-20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors meeting in Chengdu.
