General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces dares to hide crime of two officers by falsifying their alcohol tests results, - journalist

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has dared to hide the crime by falsifying the alcohol tests results of two officers-drunkards Colonel Poliakov and Major Kotii, who were under influence when they abused and insulted soldiers of the 1st Battalion of the 93rd Brigade July 9.

Censor.NET Chief Editor Yurii Butusov wrote on Facebook.

"The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine came out in defense of two officers of the 93rd Brigade - Colonel Poliakov and Major Kotii, who were under influence of alcohol as they abused and insulted the soldiers of the Brigade's 1st Battalion July 9. Two drunkards, who shamed the honor of the regiment, were detained by own soldiers and handed over to the military police patrol. The 93rd Brigade soldiers filmed how it happened. One got to give credit to the military police patrol commander as he handcuffed the troublemakers and detained them," he wrote.

"How should one act in such a high-profile incident? To be honest, I expected that the decision would be made quietly and swiftly, that military prosecutors would convict the officers and impose some minimum punishment against them - something like 10 day in military custody. Commander of the 53rd Brigade Valerii Vodolazskyi was sentenced to military custody as the whole company had set itself against him for leaving soldiers in the open fields in winter with no provisioning and food. And this is where a theater of the absurd has started," the journalist added.

"The General Staff has published these ridiculous papers to free the officers-sots from charges. You should bring to notice one important thing: Poliakov's and Kotii's blood and urine tests were made 18 (eighteen) hours after the arrest - on the next day. The alcohol tests results were clean, which is evidenced by some certificates which are not even sealed by a medical facility. And the General Staff has posted such explanation as its official statement. That is, it was decided not just to leave the perpetrators unpunished but even hide the fact of the illegal actions they have defiantly committed being confident of their impunity. Instead of punishing these drunkards and strengthen the Army prestige and wipe out disgrace of this incident," Butusov resented.

"It is worrying that such an 'excuse' may be followed by the efforts to persecute those soldiers who acted according to the law and detained commanders-sots. I would like to know the name of this dutiful man - the military police patrol commander who has conscientiously fulfilled his duty. We must not allow him getting into trouble, opening criminal proceedings against him. We must not allow the criminal proceedings to be initiated against those decent soldiers who have been fighting on the front line and not allowed to treat them as rabble, but lawfully detained the offenders and handed them over to the law enforcers. We will keep an eye on this case. I hope that Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak and Main Military Prosecutor Anatolii Matios will turn attention to this case and take the right decision," the journalist summed up.Источник: https://censor.net.ua/en/n397025
