 Unknown persons stole about 500,000 UAH from two ATMs in Kyiv, - National Police

The capital's law enforcement officers are looking for suspects who robbed two ATMs in Kyiv.

Censor.NET reports citing the National Police's Department of Communications.

The first case of the theft was reported at an ATM located in a shop on Akademika Bulakhovskoho Street. Employees of security firm arrived at the scene after the alarm went off and found the damaged ATM doors and the absence of four cassettes with cash.

According to preliminary calculations, the attackers stole more than 300,000 hryvnia ($12,145).

Witnesses saw two unidentified men in masks and gloves, with bags sitting in a dark blue car parked near the ATM.

A similar case was reported on Bazhana Avenue in Darnytskyi district of the capital. Unknown men in masks damaged surveillance cameras, then stole 200,000 hryvnia ($8,100) from the ATM in the day time. The men disappeared after committing the crime.

The police have reasons to believe that the same people are involved in both crime cases.

Criminal proceedings have been opened under article 185 (theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
