Rada votes down inclusion of bill on special confiscation in agenda

The Verkhovna Rada failed to add to the agenda a draft law No. 4890 "On amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine concerning the peculiarities of recovery to the state of illegal assets and assets which owners has not been established ".

Two unsuccessful attempts to include the bill in the agenda were made at the evening session, Censor.NET correspondent reports.

Only 174 MPs supported this bill for the first time, and 172 at the second attempt.

Commenting on the unsuccessful voting of the bill in the parliament's session hall before the second attempt, People's Front faction Head Maksym Burbak stressed the importance of these funds working in the budget for the national defense.

"If this bill is voted down, the clear public position of the People's Front will be that the faction will not take part in further voting in this hall," he said.

Prime Minister Volodymyr Hroisman said in this regard: "These $1.5 billion can be available by the end of the year. I have heard of some jugglery, but we need these funds badly anyway!"

The prime minister offered the parliament to approve the bill in principle in the first reading and send it to the committee for revision.

"Let's restore justice and return these stolen funds in the state budget of Ukraine. It will be fair to the Ukrainian citizens. Otherwise these 1.5 billion will be misappropriated," the prime minister urged.Источник: https://censor.net.ua/en/n396523
