"I'll tell you more: every time I came to the president as the faction leader, I met Onyshchenko there. I ask you what this corrupt MP did in the president's office? Is it a secret that the gas business is of common interest to President Poroshenko, his business partner Kononenko, and Onyshchenko, who has brought money to Bankova Street during all these years? The task of the Anti-Corruption Bureau and the anti-corruption prosecutor is to find everyone who is linked to Onyshchenko," Liashko said.
He also mentioned that Onyshchenko, "following the instructions of the president, tried to bribe Radical Party deputies."
"Here is another fact. In January 2015, I went to Prime Minister Yatseniuk and blocked the appointment of Onyshchenko's assistant head of Derzhheonadra [the State Service for Geology and Mineral Resources of Ukraine - ed.]. Do you know who was the first to call me and ask not to block the appointment? It was President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. We met five times on this issue and he convinced me all the way that Onyshchenko was a good guy and that everything would get done. By the way, this was going on during the Debaltseve encirclement," the MP noted.
