Doctors prevent police from taking Fedorko’s blood for alcohol test 'due to gout and hypertensive crisis'. DOCUMENT (in Ukrainian)

The new development of the story with Ukrzaliznytsia Freight Transport and Logistics Director Ivan Fedorko, who caused a road accident as he moved into the oncoming lane and collided with a car steered by journalist Maks Levin: the doctors of Ukrzaliznytsia hospital are explicitly prohibiting the law enforcement officers to take Fedorko’s blood for alcohol test citing the "unstable condition of the patient".

As reported by Censor.NET, LB.UA news outlet requires support of fellows-journalists and urges them to come to the Railway Clinical Hospital No. 2 on Povitroflotskyi Avenue 9 at 8:30 p.m.

It is the intensive care unit of this hospital where the culprit in yesterday's drunken car crash Ivan Fedorko is treated. He rammed photographer Max Levin's car, inflicting injuries to the journalist's wife and a child, who were subsequently taken to hospitals in Kyiv.

However, the law enforcers have still been unable to obtain Fedorko's blood sample to determine alcohol level. The doctors, inter alia, have prevented them doing this. In particular, they notified the Kyiv-Sviatoshyn police precinct on the impossibility to carry out an investigative action as Fedorko suffered from "gout, hypertensive crisis and sustained soft tissue injury of his left hand".

The law enforcers will make another attempt to take Fedorko's blood sample in the evening. The police are asking the media to cover this process in order to avoid insinuations. LB.UA calls on journalists to arrive to the hospital at 9 Povitroflotskyi Ave. at 8:30 p.m.
