Some 300 Russian terrorist attacks prevented last year, - Poroshenko in Bulgaria

President Petro Poroshenko accuses Russia of preparing terrorist attacks in Ukraine.

He stated this in an interview with Bulgaria's bTV, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.

"Last year alone, we prevented some 300 terrorist attacks prepared by the Russian Federation. Terrorists were trained in camps in the territory of the Kursk, Belgorod, and Rostov regions. We caught them with explosives as they were planning bombings and showed them to the world," the head of state remarked.

At the same time, commenting on the recent terrorist attack in Turkey, Poroshenko said that Ukraine will side by side with the Turkish people oppose terror as the fight against this phenomenon requires concerted efforts.

As reported, in the evening of June 28, an explosion rocked the Ataturk international airport, its epicenter being in the arrivals area. Three terrorists opened fire to spread panic in the street before two of them got inside the terminal building and blew themselves up. The third one detonated an explosive device at the entrance.

According to the latest official data, the bombing killed 41 and injured 239 people. Four Ukrainians suffered in the attack: one woman died later in hospital, three others received injuries of varying severity. Islamic State is reported to have assumed responsibility for the attack in the main Istanbul airport.

The attack on Europe's third-busiest airport was the deadliest in a series of suicide bombings in Turkey this year.

Later on, Reuters, referring to Turkish officials, reported that the Istanbul terrorists came from Russia, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan. Moreover, according to Haber Turk, two of the three suicide bombers had Russian passports.
