Ex-Head of Center for Education Quality Assessment Likarchuk placed under one-month house arrest

On Thursday, June 30, the Pechersk district court of Kyiv chose a pre-trial restraint for former Head of the Center for Education Quality Assessment Ihor Likarchuk in the form of evening house arrest.

As reported by Censor.NET, his son, ex-Deputy Head of the State Fiscal Service Kostiantyn Likarchuk wrote on Facebook.

"So, here is the result of today's ordeal of the PGO in the Pechersk court: my father has been placed under house arrest from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. until July 28, 2016," he wrote.

Likarchuk himself noted: "The questioning has just ended. As a historian who delved into the persecution of teachers in the 1930s, I can say that it was very much like that, with the exception of tortures... The absence of the presumption of innocence is still here today. No evidence was found in the case materials that would give a reason to charge me under a huge number of articles of the Criminal Code. But prosecutors decided that I should be severely punished."Источник: https://censor.net.ua/en/n395547
