"Anti-Corruption prosecutors have come the Appeal Court of Kyiv to demand increase of the bail for ex-MP Onyshchenko's "right hand" Postnyi and the main suspect in the case on gas theft Riaboshapka," Kholodnytskyi wrote.
The bail should be comparable to the damage caused to the state and exceed the ones appointed by the court in more than 1,075 times for Postnyi and more than 165 times for Riaboshapka."
"Otherwise, there is a huge risk that, having easily paid the symbolic 1.5 million hryvnia bail, the suspects might escape investigation and then the trial, flee the country or even fly away on their own planes. They can afford it. Today the whole country witnessed the mock trial held by the defense. One suspect has been defended by four lawyers and another one by six of them. Two more wanted to visit the meeting, but did not appear, and therefore expressed a request to postpone it. As a result, the hearing of the appeal of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office has been postponed for 10 and 10:30 a.m. June 29 respectively," the prosecutor stressed.
I hope that this is the final date and time, and there will be no manipulations with legal ethics and the Criminal Procedure Code in court as demonstrated by Postnyi's and Riaboshapka's defense. They did it only to delay the consideration of the appeal of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office so that the term of custody expires. It is easy to guess what can be then," he added.
