President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko hopes that despite the outcomes of the Brexit referendum in the UK, the United Kingdom will remain part of the united Europe and will continue supporting European values.

The head of Ukrainian state wrote this on his Facebook page, Censor.NET informs.

"It's a pity, but 'life goes on.' I believe that despite the outcomes of the referendum, Britain will remain part of the united Europe and will continue defending common European values.

"I believe that today's urgent challenge of the EU is to find the way to the hearts of Eurosceptics, so that opponents of the European integration project and their generous sponsors have no chances. I hope for the sanctions against Russia as the aggressor country to be extended," Poroshenko wrote.

As reported, supporters of UK leaving the EU cast more votes in the Brexit referendum than those who prefer the country to remain in the Union. According to the latest data, 51.9 percent of referendum participants said 'Leave.' Following the announcement, President of European Council Donald Tusk said the remaining 27 member countries of the European Union intend to keep their unity within the EU after 28th member, the UK, leaves the bloc. Britain's PM David Cameron announced of his intention to resign by October.
