"NABU has not submitted me a single document at least for examination in all this time... No one has ever paid me a visit. I have been served no notices," Onyshchenko said on the air of Inter TV channel on Sunday evening, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.
The lawmaker said that he intended to come to NABU himself.
"I'll probably go to NABU myself, invite all the TV channels with cameras, and we will talk in public so that no one says that I am hiding somewhere, fleeing from prosecution," Onyshchenko said.
He reminded that he was a member of the national equestrian team currently preparing for the Olympics, and therefore occasionaly left Kyiv for some time and then returned.
Oleksandr Onyshchenko believes that another campaign has been waged against him in order to grab his assets. The MP intends to persuade the parliament not to support the motion on stripping him of the parliamentary immunity, criminal prosecution, arrest, and confinement, filed by Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko.
"Knowing that I have done nothing wrong, I will persuade the procedural committee and parliament not to support these trumped-up charges against me," the lawmaker said.
Earlier, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine raided the office of MP Oleksandr Onyshchenko March 16. The NABU stated that the searches were carried out under the pretrial investigation of criminal case initiated into abuse of office during sale of the natural gas jointly extracted with Ukrhazvydobuvannia SE.
NABU searched MP Onyshchenko's formal chamber for the second time June 15.
Prosecutor General's Office received a motion of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) to lift the immunity of the people's deputy Oleksandr Onyshchenko.
Anti-Corruption Prosecutor Nazar Kholodnytskyi and NABU Director Artem Sytnyk claimed that Volia Narodu MP Onyshchenko appropriated 1,6 billion hryvnia.
