Censor.NET informs citing the situation report by the ATO Staff press center as at 6 a.m. May 31.
According to the Staff, Russian mercenaries employed 120-mm mortars against the Ukrainian forces' positions in the vicinity of Verkhniotoretske, Novobakhmutivka, Krasnohorivka, and Opytne.
It is noted that the enemy fired at the defenders of Avdiivka and Nevelske with small arms, grenade launchers of various systems, and 82-mm mortars.
Moreover, Ukrainian strong points on the outskirts of Krasnohorivka, Novotroitske, and Talakivka were assaulted with small arms, high-caliber machine guns, and automatic grenade launchers, while sniper attacks were recorded near Krasnohorivka.
It is also reported that the enemy attacked Ukrainian troops' positions near Zaitseve with IFV guns and 82-mm mortars. The militants employed high-caliber machine guns, grenade launchers of various systems, and IFV guns not far from Stanytsia Luhanska despite of the OSCE SMM observation point deployed there.
"The next evidence of the fact that the Russian Federation supplies militants with weapons and ammunition was the advanced rocket launcher introduced into service of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and captured in a recent clash with the enemy subversive and reconnaissance group. It is hard to escape a conclusion that the increase in the number of attacks and advanced weapons of the Russian Federation captured in the territory of Ukraine have everything to do with the arrival of another Russian 'humanitarian convoy'," the ATO Staff press center stressed.
