Parubii promised Nuland to adopt judicial reform by end of current session

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will pass the judicial reform law in the second reading before the end of the current session.

This was announced by Parliamentary Speaker Andrii Parubii during a meeting with Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Censor.NET reports citing Verkhovna Rada press service.

As noted, Parubii said that the planned reforms had failed due to the absence of full political freedom and specified key priorities on the parliament's agenda - adoption of laws necessary for the cooperation with the IMF, judicial reform along with the anti-corruption legislation, as well as parliamentary reform.

"Until the end of this session, we want to reach the final decision on judicial reform in the second reading... The parliamentary reform issues will be considered during the next plenary week. We are full of energy and political will," he said.

Parubii also added that Ukraine had managed to overcome the political crisis, and the current interaction between the Rada and the Cabinet "will compensate for many months of stagnation in reforms."
