Russian mercenaries attacked Ukrainian troops’ positions 29 times yesterday, 135 mortar shells hit Avdiivka’s industrial area, - Staff

The Russian terrorists’ activity in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone remains high. 29 attacks were committed over the past day.

Censor.NET informs citing the situation report by the ATO Staff press center as of 6 a.m. April 25.

According to the Staff, the illegal armed groups have conducted four strikes on the positions of Ukrainian forces in Avdiivka and one in Zaitseve using weapons banned by the Minsk agreements. It is noted that 135 shells, launched by militants from 82-mm caliber mortars between 7 p.m. and midnight, hit the industrial zone in Avdiivka.

"The Kremlin henchmen carried out two strikes on Ukrainian troops deployed near Pravdivka with 152-mm cannon artillery at night. Several houses of peaceful residents and a local church were damaged as a result of the enemy attack on the village," the statement reads.

It was also reported that the militants neglected the cease-fire deal in the vicinity of Luhanske by using IFV weapons, automatic grenade launchers and high-caliber machine guns. They employed grenade launchers and small arms against the Ukrainian soldiers near Novotroitske, Pavlopil, Stanytsia Luhanska, and Shyrokyne. The militants used similar types of weapons to commit assaults against Marinka.

"The servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were forced to open fire in response four times during the mentioned period. Despite the efforts of the enemy, the ATO troops are firmly holding the areas along the demarcation line," the Staff added.
