Hroisman to SBU: Ziukov's possible involvement in "LPR" activity should be checked

Prime Minister Volodymyr Hroisman asks the Security Service to check the possible involvement of Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Ihor Nasalyk's avisor Yurii Ziukov in the activity of the self-styled "Luhansk People's Republic".

He stated this during an hour of questions to the government in the Verkhovna Rada, Censor.NET informs referring to Ukrainski Novyny.

"I want to assure you that if the said information [about Ziukov's involvement in "LPR" activity - ed.] is confirmed, this man will not hold any position in the government. I address the Security Service of Ukraine with a request to verify the information provided by the people's deputy and if it turns truthful, take measures stipulated by the law in relation to the person whose name has just been mentioned in the deputy's request (Ziukov)," the prime minister said.

In turn, Nasalyk confirmed Ziukov being his adviser.

"Speaking of Mr. Ziukov, if you say he was in "LPR", "DPR", then he should serve a sentence, this is the work of the SBU. Since the ministerial public council submitted its proposal regarding this adviser, I can't ignore it. In addition, he was recommended by the governors of coal-mining regions," Nasalyk said.

He stressed he supported an open competition for selecting deputy ministers.

As was later reported by Security Service spokesperson Olena Hitlianska, the SBU will verify the information released today in the parliament about the possible involvement of adviser to the minister of coal and energy Yurii Ziukov in the activity of the so-called "LPR".Источник: https://censor.net.ua/en/n385697
