"Cooperation plan with IMF is not Fund’s plan but Ukraine’s one and reforms that we must implement," - Hroisman

Ukraine must adhere to the reform plan proposed by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Hroisman said, Censor.NET reports citing 112 Ukraine TV channel.

"Firstly, the agreement signed by Ukraine and the IMF stipulates for a number of tasks that must be fulfilled. The government's function and the government's task is to fulfill in good faith the obligations assumed by Ukraine. Secondly, the plan of cooperation with the IMF is not the Fund's plan - it is Ukraine's plan and the reforms that we must implement. And, unfortunately, they are painful but they will contribute to Ukraine's success as a strong country with strong economy and decent social standards. Therefore, this reform plan - we are the ones who need it, and it is necessary to realize it. Thirdly, there is a variety of unpopular decisions that need to be taken, including the one on economic feasibility of gas prices. I understand that they need to be solved and we are now working on this issue to make it public, transparent, and clear for the Ukrainian people," the PM said.

"As for our future cooperation, we are going to act in the most professional manner in order to determine the best common ground for our cooperation based on the national interests of our state but understanding the need for systemic, deep reform," he added.
