NSDC Secretary Turchynov visits hottest points in Donbas: "Increased activity of enemy subversive groups and number of provocations connected to warm weather"

NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov arrived at the forefront of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area in connection with the escalation of the situation and increase in the number of attacks and provocations by the Russian-terrorist groups.

Censor.NET reports citing the press service of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

From the Main Command Post, the NSDC secretary left for the hottest points of the forward edge of the battle area. In particular, he visited the industrial area near the city of Avdiivka, which has been undergoing daily attacks and provocations by the Russian-terrorist groups. This is due to the fact that the industrial zone is a dominant position on the road junction near Horlivka and defensive lines of the Russian-terrorist groups located nearby. The Ukrainian military were forced to take control of this strong locality to protect Avdiivka from constant strikes on its residential neighborhoods.

During his stay of the forward edge of the hostilities area, the NSDC Secretary discussed with the Command of the Sector the issue of improvement of measures to counter aggressor's provocations as well as safety of the Ukrainian troops.

According to Turchynov, the warm season most suits for carrying out military operations.

"Increased activity of the enemy subversive and reconnaissance groups and local attempts of the enemy to invite retaliation is connected to warm weather. The large-scale offensive operations of the Russian-terrorist forces also must not be ruled out," he said.
