Russia constructs and fortifies military facilities near border with Ukraine, - Turchynov

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksandr Turchynov states that the Russian Federation is constructing a military facility to deploy its armored forces in the Belgorod region of Russia.

Censor.NET reports citing the press service of the National Security and Defense Council.

"The construction of a military facility designed for deployment of numerous armored detachments of the Russian Armed Forces has been started in the vicinity of the village of Valuiki in the Belgorod region (25 km away from the state border of Ukraine)," Turchynov said.

According to the information of the NSDC secretary, a garrison town is being constructed near the Kadamovsky shooting range (Rostov region), which is aimed to quarter 33rd Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade that is being redeployed to the Ukrainian border from Maikop (Republic of Adygeya, the Russian Federation).

"In addition, the headquarters of the 20th Army of the Western Military District, which was previously based in the town of Mulino in the Moscow region, has been relocated to the city of Voronezh for the coordination of military detachments along the border with Ukraine," Turchynov said.

According to Oleksandr Turchynov, the Russian combat strength in occupied Crimea is also being built up, while the Russian military cargo planes, Su-27 fighters, and combat helicopters have also been redeployed to the airbase in Bobruisk (Belarus), which is also located next to the Ukrainian border.
