Minsk process may be extended by default, - Ukrainian representative in Minsk talks Bezsmertnyi

The decision on the extension of the Minsk process for 2016 can be made by default.

Ukraine's representative to political subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group Roman Bezsmertnyi told Censor.NET.

"The decision [to extend negotiations - ed.] will be made by the Normandy Four foreign ministers," he said.

However, according to the diplomat, there is no need to hold a separate dedicated meeting on this issue.

"It [the decision - ed.] can be made in writing, via audio or video, and even by default, that is, if no one opposes," Bezsmertnyi explained.

He also stressed that in November and December the political subgroup failed to reach an agreement on local elections in the temporarily occupied territories of the Donbas.

According to Bezsmertnyi, no more subgroup meetings are scheduled this year.
