This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Arsenii Yatseniuk before presenting drafts of budget and tax amendments in the Verkhovna Rada, Censor.NET informs citing the Cabinet's press service.
"This budget suggests increase in social standards by 12%," Yatseniuk stressed.
"This is for the first time since the crisis start that the Ukrainian government offers to compensate the increase in prices forecast for 2016 with increase in social standards," the prime minister added.
Yatseniuk noted that the state budget and required legislation, in particular, the Tax code, must be finalized by people's deputies by Dec. 24.
"There are no and never will be perfect budgets. But I hope that the budget 2016 will be efficient and fair in case if the Ukrainian parliament decides to hear it today, and if the budget and required legislation, including tax amendments, are finalized by respected members of the parliament by next Thursday."
