This was stated by Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy & Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn before the meeting of the EU Council on Foreign Affairs in Brussels on Monday, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.
Commenting on the reports of the European Commission on the progress of Visa Liberalization Action Plan implementation by Ukraine and Georgia, the politician said that positive reports and recommendations on issues of visa liberalization would be obtained this week.
In turn, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius expressed his belief about the positive prospects for the abolition of visas for Ukrainians and Georgians. He noted that the countries had made progress in the issue of visa-free dialogue.
The Lithuanian foreign minister also noted that the decision on the extension of the EU sanctions against Russia will be taken by consensus.
