Power lines fail in occupied Yalta

Power lines in houses break down massively in occupied Yalta due to overload.

Censor.NET reports citing the website of the occupational 'Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Republic of Crimea'.

"Yalta residents and visitors are actively using electric heaters and other high-power devices, which give more power to the load," the statement reads.

Chief engineer of Yalta district power circuit Pavlo Kerentsev said that a lot of breakages of power lines in the residential sector can be explained by the fact that the communications were not designed for such high performance.

"Electric systems are worn out and obsolete. When electricity is supplied during the evening hours, people switch on boilers, washing machines, microwave ovens, and other appliances of high power, which leads to high peak loads and thus to blackouts," Kerentsev said.
